Vicent Sanchis was accused of the heinous crime of sodomy by the Inquisition Court of Valencia, which ordered his arrest on 17 December 1746 and condemned him on 5 May 1747. L'objecte d'estudi d'aquest treball girarà al voltant del delicte de sodomia comesa amb menors, a la València del segle XVIII. Concretament, en el cas recollit en el procés inquisitorial contra Vicent Sanchis Barrera, de malnom «Miracielos», clergue tonsurat que residia a la casa d'orfes de l'Hospital General de València, on treballava com a mestre de la doctrina cristiana.
