| Sumario: | The first part of the book introduces the reader to the more theoretical aspects of corpus stylistics and the second part offers a preliminary analysis to help orient the reader to corpus stylistics in practice. Chapter 1 introduces key terminology in corpus stylistics and presents the reader with the complex conditions for a mixed quantitative and qualitative analysis, the former drawing on corpus methods and the latter on more traditional literary theoretical approaches. The authors, drawing on previous studies from [1] and [3] amongst others, present, in a general-to-specific order, how corpus stylistics is not identical to the two sources that provide its name but rather by blending corpus and other stylistic methodologies new results that could not have been possible by the sole use of one or other methodology can be achieved.
