Its year was led by Dan Brown, whose The Da Vinci Code (Corgi) sold nearly 3.8 million copies in home and export. Transworld overtook its parent company Random House at the top of the list of publishers by value of sales. Random is second with 13 titles and with Transworld also published the second and third biggest selling books of the year--The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time and A Short History of Nearly Everything--and eight of the top 10.
