| Sumario: | The article is about Heinz Friedrich, a publisher who was born in 1922 and founded the magazine Epoca after the war. In the 1950s, he became the chief editor and head of the paperback publishing house at S. Fischer Verlag. Together with other publishers, he founded the joint paperback publishing house dtv, which became successful due to the design of the books by Celestino Piatti and the high quality of the content. Friedrich published a total of over 30,000 titles. Heinz Friedrich was a successful publisher who took new paths and achieved great successes. He invented the large editions of paperbacks and published well-known works by authors such as Siegfried Lenz and Heinrich Böll. Friedrich also saved the German book trade by opposing the idea of the BUS company to distribute paperbacks exclusively through train station and department store bookstores. He was successful both in terms of content and economically and supported his colleagues. After his time at dtv, he took on further roles and became president of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts and an honorary professor at Ludwig Maximilian University. Friedrich verlegte insgesamt über 30.000 Titel. Heinz Friedrich war ein erfolgreicher Verleger, der neue Wege ging und große Erfolge erzielte. Er erfand die Großausgaben vom Taschenbuch und veröffentlichte bekannte Werke von Autoren wie Siegfried Lenz und Heinrich Böll. Friedrich rettete auch den deutschen Buchhandel, indem er sich gegen die Idee der BUS-Firma stellte, die Taschenbücher ausschließlich durch den Bahnhofs- und Warenhausbuchhandel zu vertreiben.
