However, in addition to the immunological perspective, the scenario of HIV transmitted drug resistance (TDR) is a growing and current problem that may worsen the current scenario of this infection. The objective of this research was to analyze the scientific evidence and describe the main trends and epidemiological repercussions of HIV RDT, as well as the inherent damage to the health of affected patients. This is an integrative literature review with a search in the Public Medline or Publisher Medline database (PubMed/MEDLINE) with descriptors and keywords combined by the Boolean operator 'AND' and 'OR, obtained by consulting the Science Descriptors in Health (DECS) and in articles already published. After applying a flowchart for selection, eleven original articles published from 2017 to 2022 were included. The main clinical impacts associated with RDT were limitations in the choice and response of available first-line therapies, as well as a decrease in virological suppression rates in therapy. Due to the impacts and clinical repercussions inherent to this problem, the importance of implementing screening and control of this type of resistance is systematically highlighted, as well as carrying out surveillance studies on TDR and outcomes in the course of the infection, especially in areas with more limited resources. O Vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana (HIV) é um retrovírus da família Retroviridae que acomete os linfócitos TCD4+ e desencadeia imunossupressão no indivíduo infectado, possibilitando assim as infecções oportunistas (IOs). Entretanto, além da perspectiva imunológica, o panorama de resistência transmitida a drogas do HIV (TDR) é uma problemática crescente e atual que pode piorar o panorama atual dessa infecção. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar as evidências científicas e descrever as principais tendências e repercussões epidemiológicas da TDR do HIV, bem como, os prejuízos inerentes à saúde dos pacientes acometidos. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura com busca na base de dados Public Medline or Publisher Medline (PubMed/MEDLINE) com descritores e palavras-chave combinados pelo operador booleano 'AND' e 'OR', obtidos por consulta aos Descritores de Ciências em Saúde (DECS) e em artigos já publicados. Após aplicação de fluxograma para seleção, foram incluídos 11 artigos originais publicados no período de 2017 a 2022. Os principais impactos clínicos associados à TDR foram limitações na escolha e reposta das terapias de primeira linha disponíveis, bem como, diminuição das taxas de supressão virológica na terapia.
