| Sumario: | This article attempts to give an overview of the fashion and dress cultures on Nigerian campuses. Through clothing, we see the various ways in which institutions and individuals engage with "tradition" and with an imagined professional future. The clothing rules on campuses also reveal the extent to which women are held responsible for sexual misconduct there. I show how the debates around clothing have been part of Nigerian universities since their founding. |
