Sumario:For example, a single topographic sheet created digitally would be called a born-digital map, but we would not consider a web-mapping application to be a born-digital map. Map libraries are already likely to use content-management systems to provide access to their scanned map collections, making adding born-digital maps technically simple. Many major map collections across the United States have successfully focused on digitally reformatting their print collections and/or the collection of geospatial data in a way that has been to the detriment of acquiring born-digital maps.
