The Australian Government's IBD National Action Plan 2019 (NAP) recognised the variability in care and services for people with IBD and recommended using more effective interventions for chronic disease management. Addressing priority actions of the NAP, Crohn's & Colitis Australia (CCA) are implementing projects to improve health literacy for people with IBD and awarenessand education to supportgeneral practitioners (GPs) to participate in IBD care. In addition, a national project identifyingthe priorities of research for people with IBD and the health professionals that deliver their care has been completed. New codesigned consumer resources to improve health literacy of people living with IBD and carers have been developed. Resources are in a variety of formats including website and social media information, animated videos and print materials tailored for priority populations includingyoung people, people living in rural and remote regions, and people with diverse cultural backgrounds. Sixonlineeducational learning modules and associated workshops and podcasts were developed by an expert commidee to provide a comprehensive professional development resource for GPs and physicians about managing IBD. The top 10 research priorities for IBD were identified by people with IBD in Australia, carers and IBD clinicians around thetopics of prevention, symptoms, treatmentand livingwith IBD.
