Sumario:This article provides an overview of the research and study of comics and bande dessinée (comic strips) in Canada, with a focus on the development of Canadian comics and the influence of American syndicates. It also explores the cultural transfers and diversity within the Canadian comics industry, including the representation of Indigenous creators and the impact of manga. The article highlights the need to move beyond a binary view of Canadian comics and examine the cultural world and transfer within the industry. It concludes with an exploration of Indigenous resurgence in comics and features interviews with young comics artists from diverse backgrounds.
