| Sumario: | The article presents a discussion on films and video. Film, video, and photography participate in a generative function, which is generally called as "light recording." "Light recording" also has to include much of reprography and printmaking, The perception of the definitional limitations of this term in these other areas helps to show more clearly just where the essential bond to the recording of light may terminate within film or video. The article also states that film and video depend upon translational systems of visual examination. For example, film could be defined as the intermittent and sequential examination of minute elements of a work, and video as the coding of multidimensional information in a one-dimensional system.
