Sumario:	The author explores legal and political issues concerning the copyright protection of artworks. Topics discussed include the compliance to the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, the European Union (EU) copyright law involving new artworks, and the EU Court of Justice (CJEU) rulings on intellectual creation which tend to contrast the traditional interpretation of creative originality by British copyright courts.
