Thus, one can see the missionary ideal as Llull as a clear reference of Bartolomé de Las Casas' missionary practice in 16th-century America. The study of indigenous languages and cultures and the treatment of equals between missionaries and infidels, which is why it is necessary to use reasons above the use of force, converge on the evangelizing will of both protagonists. Amb aquest treball hem pretés desmentir aquesta idea, tot relacionant-la amb el fet que l'ideari missional que Llull exposa al Blaquerna es va dur a terme més de dos-cents anys després de la seua redacció. Així, hom pot veure l'ideari missional lul·lià com un evident referent de la pràctica missional de Bartolomé de Las Casas a l'Amèrica del segle XVI.
