This analysis marks a significant advancement in public sector innovation research by providing a detailed empirical overview of technological trends used to enhance Saudi government operations. It reveals a notable increase in studies, indicating a shift towards digital transformation, particularly accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. This shift is evident in the growing focus on AI and cloud computing, which have seen their incorporation in pandemicrelated studies rise from 10% to 57% in just three years. The study contributes to public sector innovation literature by identifying key challenges to technology adoption, including security and privacy concerns, skill gaps, infrastructural needs, financial constraints, and the need for robust governance. Additionally, it maps the prevalent technologies and the government sectors actively adopting them, providing insights into how the pandemic has shaped priorities and integration strategies. The findings underscore the necessity for transparency, accountability, and meticulous planning in the application of emerging technologies to enhance public service operations in Saudi Arabia. This enhancement directly contributes to improving the customer experience and aligns with the ambitious goals and objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to create a vibrant society, a thriving economy, and an ambitious nation. Furthermore, the findings illuminate the current landscape of technological adoption within the government sector and establish a baseline for future investigations.
