Sumario:This article discusses the history and significance of Australian signals intelligence (SIGINT) and its ties with key partners, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand. It highlights the contributions of Sydney intellectuals in Australian codebreaking during World War II and the role of signals intelligence in revealing enemy forces and impending attacks. The article also emphasizes the importance of intellectual thought in meeting current challenges, such as artificial intelligence and cyber strategy. The Five Eyes arrangement, a signals intelligence alliance, is seen as unique and valuable, but the benefits of intelligence relationships with other countries should be constantly reassessed.
