| Summary: | Poland syndrome is a rare congenital disorder which is seen 2-3 times more often in males than females mostly presented with unilateral absence or hypoplasia of the pectoral muscle with varying degrees of chest and hand abnormalities. It is characterized by unilateral absence of the pectoral muscle (partial absence 28 percent or complete absence 72 percent). Our case involves a 21 years old male patient who presents for chest wall deformity. On physical examination, we detect lack of right pectoralis major muscle by palpation and asymmetry of chest wall and right nipple and also accessory nipple during inspection. This case is presented to draw attention to rare diseases such as Poland syndrome, which can be diagnosed with careful physical examination. Poland sendromu çoğunlukla pektoralis kaslarının yokluğu veya hipoplazisi ek olarak, farklı göğüs deformiteleri ve el anomalileri ile karakterize nadir ve özellikle erkeklerde 2-3 kat fazla görülen doğumsal bir anomalidir. En karakteristik bulgusu genellikle tek taraflı olan pektoral kasın tam (%72) veya kısmi (%28) kaybıdır. Olgumuz göğüs hastalıkları polikliniğine göğüs bölgesinde şekil bozukluğu yakınması ile başvuran 21 yaşında erkek olguydu. Yapılan fizik muayenesinde palpasyonla pektoralis majör kasının olmadığı, inspeksiyonla sağ hemitoraksta asimetrik görünüm, meme başı asimetrisi ve aksesuar meme başı tespit edildi. Bu olgu, dikkatli yapılan fizik muayene ile tanı koyulabilen Poland sendromu gibi nadir görülebilen hastalıklara dikkat çekmek için sunulmuştur. |
