Hypertension is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the United States. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of providing educational programs to address dietary and exercise patterns among individuals with Hypertension in the metro Detroit community. Information from the study was anticipated to provide greater insight into how building a program to address dietary and exercise patterns for individuals with Hypertension within the metro Detroit community would assist in improving health outcomes. The feasibility method of study and a mix-method approach was chosen to assess the phenomenon of absent educational programs available to address dietary and exercise patterns for individuals within the metro Detroit community that could help identify interventions that would improve health outcomes with self-management of Hypertension. Theoretical frameworks were based on the health promotion model and social cognitive self-efficacy theories. The "Level Up" feasibility study: Building a program to address dietary and exercise patterns for individuals with Hypertension in metro Detroit proved to be beneficial. There were limitations related to the two workshops noted. Surveys collected after the workshops revealed that exercise, educational workshops, and patientphysician relationships might be most beneficial in improving the capability of individuals in metro Detroit to self-managing their Hypertension.
