At first, the concept of questioning the reason why societies do not care about being lied to by politicians and accept it; even when the lie is so obvious. A quarter century after being introduced, it was chosen as the word of the year in 2016 by the Oxford Dictionary, a critical year for UK and US politics and voter behavior in which the concept evolved in a more complex dimension due to the political communication strategies.
