How to understand behaviour that challenges: When people with learning disabilities show behaviour that challenges, nurses should try to understand why it is happening and explore ways to divert from it.
When people with learning disabilities and/or autism display behaviour that challenges it can be difficult for carers to provide the support the person needs – and it is also damaging to the individual’s quality of life.
