| Sumario: | Last week, ADAW wrote about the research scandal following the release of the transcript and recording from an interview for a research study funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) (see ADAWhttps://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/adaw.34206). To sum up: Ryan McNeil, Ph.D., director of Harm Reduction Research for the Program in Addiction Medicine at Yale University and his colleague, Lisa Bonilla, had just interviewed Shawn Hill, president of the Greater Harlem Coalition, for the study. The interview was recorded on Zoom, and when it ended, the recording continued, and the researchers disparaged Hill while at the same time indicating they wanted to find another source who was less well‐spoken and who they would "give enough rope to hang themselves." This made it clear that they did not like Hill's focus on removing harm reduction sites from Harlem neighborhoods (part of the Coalition's ongoing campaign against everything including opioid treatment programs). As we wrote, the main concern was about the general distrust of qualitative research going forward.
