The author argues that economic-sentimental theater acculturates economic behavior by mediating it with traditional Christian ethical values. The study is based on discourse and power analysis, complemented by gender studies. Specific works that reflect the relationship between the home and political economy, as well as the valuation of work and gender inequality, are analyzed. The study highlights the influence of the Bourbon reform on the representation of economic activity and hegemonic masculinity. El artículo analiza el papel del teatro popular en la difusión de teoremas económicos durante la Ilustración española. La autora sostiene que el teatro económico-sentimental acultura el comportamiento económico al mediarlo con los valores éticos cristianos tradicionales. El estudio se basa en el análisis del discurso y del poder, complementado con los estudios de género. Se analizan obras específicas que reflejan la relación entre el hogar y la economía política, así como la valoración del trabajo y la desigualdad de género.
