| Sumario: | Purpose In view of the continuous growth of the aging population1, applying information design and interaction design into health-care for the elderly has become the trend of future technology. This paper was done in cooperation with Chu Shang Show Chwan Hospital and develops an interactive website 'iShow-Nantou Smart Town' to implement telehealth care for the elderly. The main purpose of this paper is to develop the iShow website and to provide a complete telehealth care online system for the elderly, and bring the elderly in Nantou a healthier life. Method This paper refers to the research related to an information interface design for the elderly by Nicole W2 and Tanid P3. The website was designed with a web interface that is aesthetically attractive, practical and has interactive features. We provide telehealth care on the iShow website using methods based on the telehealth services needed by the elderly4. As Figure 1 shows, the elderly can easily review their personal physiological records in Chu Shang Show Chwan Hospital such as temperature, pulse, blood pressure and blood glucose levels on the iShow website. In an emergency, an elderly person can immediately make contact with the telehealth center at Show Chwan Hospital (Figure 2). In addition to enhancing the health of the elderly, we also attempt to enrich the lives of the elderly. We integrate life information including diet, health, housing, traffic, education and entertainment into the iShow website. For example, the elderly can conveniently book a restaurant reservation or sign up for a weekend of activity through the iShow website. Results & Discussion This paper has established a telehealth care platform designed for the elderly on the iShow website; the website has generally been used by the elderly in Nantou, Taiwan. The iShow website has become a great tool for communication between the elderly and Chu Shang Show Chwan Hospital. The site makes it easier for the elderly to manage their health and to participate in community activities through the iShow website. An additional aim of this paper is to bring the elderly a warm, healthy and satisfying life through the iShow website.
