| Sumario: | nternet access and usage is increasing in Turkey, where digitalization is rapidly increasing with the development and widespread use of technology. Internet use has enabled people to be informed more quickly about people, information and events in many parts of the world, near or far, with less effort. The increase in internet usage has also increased the number of digital environments and social media platforms depending on various factors such as people's interests, desires and needs. Internet; querying information, being informed about events, voice and video calling, reading online news - newspapers and magazines, messaging, sending - watching or downloading videos and photos, accessing education, health, public and banking services, shopping, getting information about goods and services., e-commerce is used by individuals for various purposes such as participating in discussions or voting on social or political issues, searching for and applying for a job. In the study, changes in internet usage rates in individuals between the ages of 16-74 in Turkey were examined according to criteria such as gender, education level, profession, workforce, and usage purposes, and the effects of internet use were emphasized. In addition, the effect of geographical conditions on the differences in internet access and internet usage rates was questioned. The document review method, one of the qualitative research approaches, was used in the study. Data analysis, evaluation and comparison techniques were used and results and suggestions were presented. For this purpose, TURKSTAT's Household Information Technologies Usage Survey data was used. In order to make data analysis, evaluation and comparison methods more qualified, various tables and maps were created based on the data. In the study, it was determined that internet usage rates differ according to individuals' characteristics such as gender, age, profession and workforce.The rapid increase in internet use causes some negative effects on individuals. Today, individuals' lack of sufficient awareness while using various digital applications and social media environments on the internet creates various risks and dangers. For this reason, it is very important for individuals to be more conscious in using the internet.
