| Sumario: | As Magister in Sacra Pagina, Thomas Aquinas, had a triple office, according to the well-known formula of Peter Cantor: legere, disputare et praedicare. The disputing Thomas has received sufficient attention during all these years. Recently, there is an increased interest in Thomas's reading of the Word ("Biblical Thomism"). Aquinas's collationes of the Hail Mary, the Lord's Prayer, the Creed, and the Decalogue are well known. However, the preaching Thomas in his "academic sermons" (Fr. L.-J. Bataillon OP is the most notable exception) has gone almost unnoticed. In this article we propose to delve into this authentic homiletic legacy of the Angelic Doctor. We will analyze the style and structure of the sermons in general, and then focus on their doctrinal content. Como Magister in Sacra Pagina, Tomás de Aquino, tenía un triple oficio, según la conocida fórmula de Pedro Cantor: legere, disputare et praedicare. El Tomás que disputa ha recibido suficiente atención durante todos estos años. Recientemente, hay un mayor interés en la lectura que Tomás hace de la Palabra (“Tomismo Bíblico”). Las collationes del Aquinate al Ave María, el Padre Nuestro, el Credo y el Decálogo son bien conocidas. Sin embargo, ha pasado casi inadvertido el Tomás predicador en sus “sermones académicos” (Fr. L.-J. Bataillon OP es la excepción más destacable). En este artículo nos proponemos ahondar en este legado homilético tan auténtico del Doctor Angélico. Haremos un análisis del estilo y estructura de los sermones en general, para luego ahondar en su contenido doctrinal. |
