Novels, a literary genre, also contain important data in terms of vocabulary. One of these novels is Beyoğlu Sırları, which was published in series between 1888 and 1889 in Anatoli newspaper; a newspaper using Turkish in Greek script (Karamanlidika). Evangelinos Misailidis, the editor-in-chief and publisher of the newspaper, translated Epameinondas Kiriakidis's Greek novel Πέραν Απόκρυφα (Peran Apocrypha) into Turkish. With this novel, Misailidis opens the doors of a 'Greek-speaking world' and a 'Turkish-speaking world' to the readers, as if they share the same religion and denomination. Especially in the dialogues, the language of the Istanbul Rum bourgeois, which aspire to Europeanism, and the language of the lower class living in slums, dark streets and brothels, are skillfully used. Beyoğlu Sırları is very rich in terms of vocabulary. In his translation of the novel, Misailidis successfully brings together Arabic and Persian words in Oeoman Turkish with Greek, Italian, French and English words and terms (especially religious terms) used by the Rums in daily life. In this study, the Turkish vocabulary of the Beyoğlu Sırları was tried to be determined including the examples that were not transferred or were not widely used in the standard language. In the text, words, word groups, idioms and proverbs specific to the Anatolian Turkish of the period, especially Karamanlidika, were listed alphabetically and evaluated by indicating their meanings along with their position in the sentence. Söz varlığı bir dildeki sözlerin bütünü anlamına gelmekle birlikte dili kullanan toplumun kavramlar dünyasını, düşünce yapısını, maddi ve manevi kültürünü yansıtır. Bir edebî tür olan romanlar, söz varlığı bakımından önemli veriler içerir. 1888-1889 yılları arasında Yunan harfli Türkçe (Karamanlıca) Anatoli gazetesinde tefrika edilen Beyoğlu Sırları, bu romanlardan biridir. Gazetenin başyazarı ve imtiyaz sahibi olan Evangelinos Misailidis, Epameinondas Kiriakidis'in Yunanca Πέραν Απόκρυφα (Peran Apokrifa) adlı romanından Türkçeye çevirmiştir. Misailidis bu roman ile okurlara âdeta aynı dinden ve mezhepten 'Yunanca konuşan bir dünya' ile 'Türkçe konuşan bir dünya'nın kapılarını açar. Özellikle diyaloglarda Avrupalılığa özenen İstanbul Rum sosyetesinin dili ile kenar mahallelerde, karanlık sokaklarda ve genelevlerde yaşayan alt tabakanın dili ustaca kullanılır. Beyoğlu Sırları kelime kadrosu açısından oldukça zengindir. Misailidis, romanın çevirisinde Osmanlı Türkçesindeki Arapça, Farsça sözcükler ile Rumların günlük hayaea kullandıkları Yunanca, İtalyanca, Fransızca, İngilizce sözcükleri ve terimleri (özellikle dinî terimler) başarıyla bir araya getirir. Çalışmada, Beyoğlu Sırları romanının Türkçe söz varlığı tespit edilmeye çalışılmış, standart dile geçmemiş veya standart dilde yaygın olarak kullanılmayan örneklere yer verilmiştir.
