ab: Developments in information and communication technologies have enabled the emergence of various search engines on the internet. In particular, the frequent use of Google search engine in the world creates the need for researchers to conduct research in this field, and Google Trends service, which provides information about users' search queries, provides very important data for researchers. This study aims to investigate the user search activities of the top five news websites with high number of visitors in Turkey (hurriyet.com.tr, milliyet. com.tr, mynet.com, sozcu.com.tr, sabah.com.tr) within a period of five years (11.11.2018-11.11.2023) within the data obtained from Google Trends and to make certain comparisons regarding internet news websites. For this purpose, data were obtained and compared by filtering the keywords "Hürriyet", "Milliyet", "Mynet", "Sözcü" and "Sabah" as "Turkey - Last five years - News - Google News Search" on the Google Trends website for internet news sites. The date range of the data set was determined as five years (11.11.2018 - 11.11.2023) and the general survey model, one of the descriptive research methods, was used in the research. According to the findings obtained from the research; it was determined that both users search queries and queries related to five online news sites showed certain differences according to cities. Internet users who showed a tendency to search for certain keywords related to internet news sites also showed a tendency to search for different news sites. In addition, no search query data could be found for the five online news sites in the cities of Amasya, Muş, Batman and Kilis.
