With millions of students experiencing mental health challenges, especially those in poverty, there is a heightened risk for social-emotional disturbances and exposure to multiple traumas. Untreated mental health issues lead to academic struggles, higher dropout rates, and behavioral problems that may result in disciplinary actions. Implementing traumainformed approaches and integrating mental health services within schools, supported by collaboration among educators, mental health professionals, and families, can foster a healthier educational environment, promoting students' academic and emotional success. This study employed a qualitative approach to explore various aspects of mental health practices and social-emotional learning implementation in schools. The data revealed significant gaps in participants' knowledge of schoolbased mental health practices. The insights gained from these focus group discussions provide valuable guidance for improving the implementation of school-based mental health practices and social-emotional learning methods. pubtype: Academic Journal doctype: Article src: R language: English refInfo: copyright: @attributes: flag: N holdings: @attributes: islocal: N |
