Secular and Christian organizations alike have sought to provide much-needed mental health care for Syrian refugees, yet research examining Christian approaches lags considerably. This article outlines critical lessons learned on Syrian refugees' mental health, the growing recognition of how religiosity affects trauma recovery, and the importance of wholistic care as well as avoiding deficit terminology. Christian practitioners have much to contribute to and learn from this discourse. Concluding recommendations include a call for Christians to critically evaluate the effectiveness and ethical considerations of their mental health care approaches.
