Having done this, we will show that this last form of knowledge not only allows us to account for the knowledge that the soul has of itself through its own being, but also for the knowledge of another person in their singularity; thus showing that the other is present to those who know him in the manner of an immediate and dynamic presence, communicative of personal intimacy, and which we call "biography." En el presente artículo presentaremos, a la luz de la interpretación de Jaime Bofill y Francisco Canals de la tesis de la Duplex Cognitio (plasmada por Santo Tomás de Aquino en De Veritate X, 8), dos modos de conocimiento, una llamado «esencial-objetivo» y otro «existencial». Hecho esto, mostraremos que esta última forma de conocimiento no sólo permite dar razón del conocimiento que el alma tiene de sí por su propio ser, sino que también del conocimiento de otra persona en su singularidad; evidenciando, así, que el otro se hace presente a quien lo conoce al modo de una presencia inmediata y dinámica, comunicativa de la intimidad personal, y que damos el nombre de «biografía». Neste artigo apresentaremos a partir da interpretação de Jaime Bofill e Francisco Canals da tese da Duplex Cognitio (plasmada por Santo Tomás de Aquino em De Veritate X, 8), duas modalidades ou vertentes de conhecimento, uma chamada «essencial-objetivo», e outra, «existencial».
