This article briefly combed out the compilation concept of this important achievement of the basic construction of journalism and communication discipline in China, and points out that the terminology of Journalism studies and that of Communication studies are different and have their own characteristics. This article also combed out some innovative attempts such as building a “ reference word stock”, setting up a “ noun column”, and prioritizing the absorption of relevant achievements from national normative documents in their compilation process.
