Method: The perspectives of primary caregivers in two families that had two biological children with sensorineural hearing loss were explored using a semistructured interview. The Bingham Five-Phase Process of Qualitative Data Analysis was utilized to thoroughly analyze and find commonalities between responses. The ICF framework guided theme exploration. Result: The results show the highest number of codes emerging as related to processing information and safety, concerns about peer relationships and selfimage, and not utilizing technology to its fullest extent. Participants indicated that the presence of environmental supports, both within the school system and through personal advocates, underscores the importance of external factors in mitigating barriers and fostering inclusion for individuals who are DHH. Conclusions: The specific codes identified support the overarching themes of participation limitations, personal coping style, and environmental supports that can be considered when working with this population.
