| Sumario: | The aim of this article is to identify the simultaneous presence of both overt and covert racism in the opinions of users on three news sites on Facebook (UNF). Similarly, other ways of thinking are also identified, the speeches of dissent against both ideologies. From the same news information, offensive and discriminatory verbal expressions of three public officials towards indigenous people in Mexico, the opinions of the users regarding said expressions are analyzed and interpreted. The purpose of this research is to reflect on our use of covert racism, the most harmful because of its ability to remain invisible and, thus, have less possibility of being challenged. El objetivo de este artículo es identificar en las opiniones de los usuarios en tres sitios de noticias en Facebook (UNF) la presencia simultánea de la vertiente abierta y velada del racismo. De igual forma, también se identifican otras formas de pensar, los discursos de disidencia ante ambas ideologías. A partir de la misma información noticiosa, expresiones verbales ofensivas y discriminatorias de tres funcionarios públicos hacia indígenas en México, se analizan e interpretan las opiniones de los usuarios a propósito de dichas expresiones. La finalidad de esta investigación es reflexionar sobre nuestro uso del racismo velado, el más perjudicial por su capacidad de mantenerse invisible y, de esa forma, tener menos posibilidad de ser desafiado. |
