This study focuses on one such unique settlement near the Ricobayo dam in Zamora, Spain, exploring its construction and environmental integration. At its inception, Ricobayo was Europe's largest dam, its creation marked by notable feats like relocating a church, and pioneering hydraulic engineering and bridge construction, including a record-breaking design by Torroja. The adjacent company town set a precedent for creating liveable spaces for workers in isolated locales, influencing later developments. Research included on-site investigations, archival work at Iberdrola's Historical Archive, and review of historical texts, underscoring the cultural and landscape significance of 20th-century dam settlements and the distinctive features of Ricobayo's surroundings. Los poblados obreros son fundamentales para entender los cambios urbanos y territoriales provocados por la Revolución Industrial, especialmente aquellos situados en áreas remotas pero ricas en recursos. Entre ellas, destacan los poblados construidos junto a las presas debido a su profundo impacto territorial. Este estudio se centra en un asentamiento único cerca de la presa de Ricobayo en Zamora, España, y analiza tanto su construcción como su situación actual. En su momento, Ricobayo fue la presa más grande de Europa, y su construcción fue significativa debido a hechos notables como la necesidad de reubicar una iglesia, la complejidad de la obra hidráulica o la importancia de los nuevos puentes que fueron construidos para salvar el embalse, incluyendo el célebre viaducto Martín Gil de Eduardo Torroja.
