      ab: Technology-focused STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education is a rapidly changing field of study. Educators need a clear understanding of the forces shaping it and how to respond to those changes. Our aim through this research is to explore student-related outcomes in STEM higher education. We do this by examining data from colleges and universities in 21 different states in the U.S. This research shows that offering more STEM degrees correlates with higher students' starting salaries, which are associated with overall career salaries. However, this research also shows that higher teacher ratings may not correlate with higher student starting salaries. In fact, choosing to attend an expensive university and major in a STEM field may be the key to increasing future career earnings.
