| Sumario: | This study examines the role of abstracting and indexing (A&I) databases in the context of advancing library discovery services in academic libraries. An anonymous survey of 69 participants from various institutions highlighted the complexities of resource selection. Findings show that while discovery services excel in usability and broad access, A&I databases remain indispensable for comprehensive, in-depth research. Budget constraints remain a significant factor, necessitating balanced strategies. This study concludes by emphasizing the need for user-centered approaches while acknowledging the emerging role of AI in library resource management. |
