| Sumario: | Picturebooks convey meaningful representations of the world, share human experiences, and teach values to children. Recent research shows that children's picturebooks have gained a wider readership due to their literary and aesthetic appeal and their formal, material, and generic richness. As the education of children has conventionally been assigned to women, women writers have traditionally taken on the role of writing and illustrating children's books. This expectation is linked to typical features of woman's writing, such as the selection of themes related to male oppression and female liberation. This feminist perspective can sometimes lead to thematic and aesthetic changes in the traditional fairy tale scheme. This study examines the thematic, stylistic, and aesthetic characteristics of the De coronas y galeras (2018) by María Cristina Ramos and illustrated by Sandra Lavandeira, both from Argentina, as an example of a children's narrative focused on female liberation.
