Sumario:The article describes the case of a 76-year-old man with hyperthryroidism, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and hypertension who struggled psychologically and emotionally over his loss of function and financial independence. Topics include changes from his previous patient and well-mannered nature, his bilateral dysmetria and a loss of proprioception in both lower limbs and the left upper limb, and high cerebrospinal fluid protein and low glucose concentrations revealed in the lumbar puncture.
