| Sumario: | Background: Amblyopia, a neurodevelopmental disorder, limits visual functions, impacting binocular vision and sensory development. Binocular vision therapy aims to improve patient performance and enhance motor skills compromised by amblyopia. While the in-clinic method has been the primary approach for administering these therapies, the advent of supervised remote online applications presents a novel opportunity for assessment and intervention. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of remotely and inclinic administered software-based anisometropic amblyopia therapy. Methods: The study included male and female participants aged 8-30 years with non-strabismic anisometropic amblyopia who met the inclusion criteria of best-corrected visual acuity better than 1.0 logMAR and no history of strabismus. A sample of 26 subjects with non-strabismic anisometropic amblyopia was selected, and measurements of visual acuity, size of the suppression scotoma, and stereo acuity were recorded. The softwarebased vision therapy program was administered using the VisuoPrime software, with 13 subjects receiving in-clinic therapy and 13 subjects receiving supervised remote therapy. The mode of the therapy was randomly assigned. Each subject received 14 therapy sessions, and follow-ups were conducted after 7 and 14 sessions to obtain the same measurements. Results: The study group consisted of 26 subjects, out of which 15 (58%) were males and 11 (42%) were females. The mean age of the participants was 16 ± 7 years. After undergoing 14 therapy sessions, the study demonstrated a statistically significant enhancement in both visual acuity and stereo acuity. Furthermore, a notable reduction in the size of the suppression scotoma was also observed. The comparative analysis between in-clinic and supervised remote therapy modalities revealed no substantial variance in effectiveness, particularly in the improvement of visual functions and reduction in the size of the suppression scotoma. Conclusion: This study establishes the efficacy of software-based anisometropic amblyopia therapy, whether administered remotely or in-clinic.
