Sumario:The article speculates on the future of the Reading Partners project concerning libraries and the book trade. Reading Partners was always a great idea in theory. For too long neglected by publishers when it came to promoting books and reading, the plan to return libraries to the front of publishers' minds was warmly welcomed all round. But some sceptics wondered if talk of a new spirit of cooperation would make any practical difference. Librarians, many of whom are short on resources and frustrated in their attempts to attract authors and publishers' promotions into their branches, are ecstatic at the difference the project has made.
