| Sumario: | Purpose: Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most prevalent neurodevelopmental conditions marked by symptoms of inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. These symptoms significantly impact affected individuals, particularly children and adolescents, who benefit from timely assessment, diagnosis, and intervention. In recent years, eye movement research has increasingly provided insights into neurological function, presenting eye-tracking technology as a valuable tool for supporting ADHD. This review presents a comprehensive summary of eye-tracking applications in supporting children and adolescents with ADHD. Materials and methods: Through the analysis of 74 studies, we examine how eye-tracking technology has been applied to address ADHD-related challenges, the specific methods used, and the correlations between eye-tracking metrics and ADHD symptoms in youth. Results and conclusions: The findings suggest that eye-tracking offers a non-invasive and reliable approach to objectively assess domains such as visual processing characteristics, early detection or interventions. By discussing both the achievements and limitations of the reviewed studies, this paper not only consolidates existing knowledge but also proposes avenues for future research to enhance support for children and adolescents with ADHD. IMPLICATIONS FOR REHABILITATION: Eye tracking is an invaluable tool in ADHD research, providing diverse applications to support individuals with the condition, particularly children and adolescents. There is a need for more robust research on the use of eye-tracking technology in children and adolescents with ADHD, especially in its application for interventions and the evaluation of intervention outcomes. This article summarizes existing knowledge and provides recommendations for future research, with the aim of guiding researchers in the effective and thoughtful use of eye-tracking technology to further advance ADHD studies.
