| Sumario: | This project aimed to improve the three-month follow-up completion rate for positive colorectal cancer screening cases. The analysis revealed several issues: the long duration from sample submission to report issuance, inadequate information systems, screening reports that did not differentiate between negative and positive results and were sent by regular mail, a lack of standardized screening procedures, difficulty in scheduling follow-up appointments for positive cases, and delays in scheduling colonoscopies that exceeded three months. After cross-team discussions, we implemented integrated information systems for report printing, color-coded report management, standardized operating procedures for colorectal cancer screening, and increased the number of dedicated outpatient clinics. Following the implementation, the three-month follow-up completion rate for positive colorectal cancer screening cases reached 81.9%. The average time from sample submission to report issuance was reduced to 10-14 days, and the average time to schedule a colonoscopy for positive cases was shortened to 21 days. These improvements reduced the time to diagnosis for positive colorectal cancer screening cases, facilitating earlier detection and treatment, with the goal of lowering the mortality rate from colorectal cancer.
