        This article examines the transformations in Orthodox polemical discourse practices in the "Ruthenian language" of the late 16th century, which developed under the influence of Western European traditions. The study explores the evolution of dialogicity in polemical texts (treatises, letters, sermons), which were often composed as responses to accusatory writings. Reported speech is analyzed to indirectly transmit and interpret an opponent's words within a polemical text, viewed through polemical text formation, argumentation theory, and rhetorical organization. The article also investigates the discursive aspects of reported speech in polemical writings in the "Ruthenian language", focusing on its relationship with persuasiveness and evaluability. Additionally, the study highlights the expansion of source materials that demonstrate the practice of engaging in polemics by employing the "weapon" of the opponent.
        Šiame straipsnyje nagrinėjamos XVI a. pabaigos stačiatikių poleminio diskurso praktikų transformacijos „rusėnų kalba", kurios plėtojosi, veikiamos Vakarų Europos tradicijų. Tyrime analizuojama poleminių tekstų (traktatų, laiškų, pamokslų) dialogiškumo raida. Šie tekstai dažnai būdavo kuriami kaip atsakas į kaltinamuosius rašytinius dokumentus. Analizuojama perteikiamoji kalba, kaip priemonė netiesiogiai perteikti ir interpretuoti oponento žodžius poleminiame tekste, pasitelkiant poleminių tekstų formavimo principus, argumentacijos teoriją ir retorinę struktūrą. Straipsnyje taip pat nagrinėjami perteikiamosios kalbos diskurso aspektai poleminiuose „rusėnų kalba" rašytuose tekstuose, daugiausia dėmesio skiriant jos sąsajoms su įtikinamumu ir vertinimu. Tyrimas taip pat parodė, kad gausu šaltinių, atskleidžiančių, kaip poleminėje praktikoje buvo taikomas vadinamasis oponento „ginklas".
