| Sumario: | This section discusses the connections between Native critique and socialist critique. Both Natives and socialists have long advocated individual agency, common ownership of land and social welfare. All of which has agitated U.S. capitalists dedicated to maintaining the premise that U.S. possessive individualism, the accumulation of private property and the unequal distribution of resources are synonymous with independence. The section analyses the Christian versus Native concepts of time and history. Ward Churchill and Calvin Luther Martin have contended not that history has left Natives behind but that Euramerican, capitalist and socialist, inventions of history have misrepresented Native organizations of life, value and relationship as anachronistic non-options.
