| Sumario: | Our paper aims at discussing the Romanian translations of some of the most interesting Italian biographies (and autobiographies). The topic was previously addressed in O istorie a traducerilor în limba română din secolul al XX-lea / A history of Romanian translations in the 20th century (Ed. Academiei Române, Bucharest, 2022, pp. 539-546 and 534-539), a research that allowed us to delve into the issue of the biographical (and autobiographical) genre, an extremely unstable genre. We will see that among the translators of this genre there are important 20th-century intellectuals such as George Călinescu (1899–1965) or Alexandru Marcu (1894–1955) for the inter-war period, Stefan Crudu (1914–1984), Oana Busuioceanu (1933–2007), George Lăzărescu (1922–2006), Ștefan Augustin Doinaș (1922–2002) or Nina Façon (1909–1974) after the second World War. Among the publishers that publish works belonging to this genre we mention Editura pentru Literatura Universală, Editura Univers or Meridiane in the post-war years, or Humanitas, Polirom, Litera among contemporary publishers. In conclusion, we will reflect on the intellectual profile of these works and the relevance of these translations in the Romanian context. Il nostro intervento si propone di prendere in discussione le traduzioni romene di alcune delle più interessanti biografie (e autobiografie) italiane. L'argomento è stato precedentemente affrontato nell'opera O istorie a traducerilor în limba română din secolul al XX-lea / Una storia delle traduzioni in romeno del Novecento (Ed. Academiei Române, Bucarest, 2022, pp. 539-546 e 534-539), una ricerca che ci ha permesso di approfondire la questione del genere biografico (e autobiografico), un genere estremamente instabile. Vedremo che tra i traduttori di questo genere ci sono importanti intellettuali del Novecento come George Călinescu (1899–1965) o Alexandru Marcu (1894–1955) per il periodo interbellico, di Ștefan Crudu (19141984), Oana Busuioceanu (1933-2007), George Lăzărescu (1922–2006), Ștefan Augustin Doinaș (1922–2002) o Nina Façon (1909–1974) per il secondo dopoguerra. Tra le editrici che pubblicano opere appartenenti al genere di cui ci occupiamo ricordiamo Editura pentru Literatura Universală, Editura Univers o Meridiane nel secondo dopoguerra oppure Humanitas, Polirom, Litera tra le editrici contemporanee. In conclusione rifletteremo sul profilo intellettuale di queste opere e sulla rilevanza di queste traduzioni in ambito romeno. |
