Improving the effectiveness of radiation sterilization of bone implants using computer modeling.

Bone implants play a decisive role in orthopedic surgery and regenerative medicine, offering solutions for the treatment of fractures, degenerative diseases, and structural support. Ensuring the sterility of implants is important for preventing infections which can lead to serious sequelae. Steriliz...

ab: Bone implants play a decisive role in orthopedic surgery and regenerative medicine, offering solutions for the treatment of fractures, degenerative diseases, and structural support. Ensuring the sterility of implants is important for preventing infections which can lead to serious sequelae. Sterilization by irradiation, a widely used method in the production of medical products, is of proven effectiveness in the destruction of microorganisms. Results obtained by computer modeling of radiation exposure of bone implants can be used to increase the effectiveness of this process. Optimization of this method may lead to reduced processing time and savings in production costs.
