      ab: The article discusses the goals and recent developments of various music research initiatives, particularly focusing on the efforts of the Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale (RILM) and its related projects. RILM aims to enhance interdisciplinary connections in music studies and has recently expanded its databases, including the RILM Abstracts of Music Literature and the RILM Archive of Popular Music Magazines, which now features over 125 independently published titles. Additionally, the article highlights the growth of the RILM Index to Scores and Collected Editions and the Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals, which collectively provide extensive access to music literature and periodicals from diverse cultural backgrounds. The article emphasizes RILM's commitment to cultural preservation and the ongoing expansion of its resources to support music scholarship.
