        This study aimed to determine the effect of child gender on the relationship between parents' child rearing attitudes and Internet addiction in adolescents. The descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with 264 high school students between April and May 2024. Data were collected using personal information form, perceived helicopter attitude scale and internet addiction scale. Data were analyzed using SPSS 26 and AMOS software. Students 82.6% stated that if they had been born as the opposite sex, their family's attitude towards internet use would not have changed. The findings showed that the internet addiction scores of the students were close to the upper limits of the scale and therefore, internet use was at the level of addiction. In addition, students perceived their parents' attitudes as “normal” in general. This indicates that parents did not exhibit an overly intrusive (helicopter) or indifferent approach. Although students' Internet addiction is affected by parental attitude, gender does not change this effect. In other words, it was determined that gender did not play a moderating role (p<0.05) in the effect of parental attitude on students' Internet addiction.
        Bu çalışmada ebeveynlerin çocuk yetiştirme tutumları ile ergenlerde internet bağımlılığı arasındaki ilişkide çocuk cinsiyetinin etkisini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Tanımlayıcı kesitsel nitelikteki araştırma, Nisan–Mayıs 2024 tarihleri arasında 264 lise öğrencisi ile yürütülmüştür. Kişisel bilgi formu, algılanan helikopter tutum ölçeği ve internet bağımlılığı ölçeği kullanılarak toplanan veriler SPSS 26 ve AMOS programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada öğrencilerin %82.6’sı, karşı cins olarak doğmuş olsa bile ailesinin internet kullanmasına karşı tutumunun değişmeyeceğini ifade etmiştir. Bulgular, öğrencilerin internet bağımlılığı puanlarının ölçeğin üst sınırlarına yakın seyrettiğini ve bu nedenle internet kullanımının bağımlılık düzeyinde olduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca öğrenciler, anne ve baba tutumlarını genel olarak “normal” algılamıştır. Bu durum, ebeveynlerin aşırı müdahaleci (helikopter) veya ilgisiz bir yaklaşım sergilemediğine işaret etmektedir. Öğrencilerin internet bağımlılığı ebeveyn tutumundan etkilense de cinsiyet bu etkiyi değiştirmemektedir. Başka bir deyişle, ebeveyn tutumunun öğrencilerin internet bağımlılığı üzerindeki etkisinde cinsiyetin düzenleyici (moderatör) bir rolü olmadığı (p<0.05) tespit edilmiştir.
