Sumario:The article focuses on the relationship between baseline dual-task (DT) ability and post-concussion recovery time in Division I athletes. A study involving 35 athletes assessed their performance on a tandem gait (TG) protocol, both in single-task (ST) and DT conditions, to determine if these measures could predict recovery duration. Results indicated that a higher DT cost for TG time was significantly associated with longer recovery times, suggesting that athletes with poorer cognitive and motor control at baseline may experience extended recovery periods post-concussion. The findings imply that targeted interventions to improve DT performance could be beneficial for these athletes.
