| Sumario: | The article investigates the impact of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) on tandem gait performance in NCAA Division I athletes, focusing on both single-task (ST) and dual-task (DT) conditions. A study involving 344 athletes, including 22 with ADHD, assessed their performance in tandem walking under cognitive load. Results indicated that athletes with ADHD had longer average gait times in both conditions compared to those without ADHD; however, these differences were not statistically significant. The findings suggest that while ADHD may influence postural control, particularly in single-task scenarios, further research with larger samples is needed to better understand its implications for training and injury prevention in athletes. |
