Sumario:The article investigates the influence of gut microbiota on exercise performance in humans, particularly focusing on the effects of antibiotics (ABX). The study involved healthy recreationally active males and females aged 18-40, who underwent various assessments including VO2max and a 5 km treadmill time trial. Results indicated that males had significantly greater height, body mass, and VO2max compared to females, while no significant differences were found in body composition or fuel utilization between sexes. The findings suggest standard sex differences in physical performance, and the study aims to compare these results with data collected after ABX treatment to determine its impact on exercise performance.
