| Sumario: | The article focuses on the effects of dual-task performance on frontal cortex activation during turn walking in young adults. The study involved six participants who performed an 8-figure turn walking task while simultaneously engaging in a cognitive numerical vigilance task. Results indicated that the concentration change of oxygenated hemoglobin (ΔHbO2) in specific areas of the frontal cortex, including the Frontal Pole Area and Primary Motor Cortex, was significantly greater during dual-task walking compared to single-task walking. The findings suggest that turn walking with cognitive demands requires the integration of motor control and cognitive functions, highlighting its potential as a beneficial exercise in daily life. |
